Early HD DVD Arrivals Announced for ‘Kingdom,’ ‘Eastern Promises’

They weren’t planned for release until December 26, but Universal says The Kingdom (Combo HD DVD and Standard DVD) [HD DVD] and Eastern Promises (Combo HD DVD and Standard DVD) [HD DVD] will hit stores three days early to get a jump on the ho-ho-ho holiday.
In a surprise treat for early adopters looking for a bit of blood-splattered high-def merriment in their stockings, The Kingdom (Combo HD DVD and Standard DVD) [HD DVD] and Eastern Promises (Combo HD DVD and Standard DVD) [HD DVD] will now make their HD DVD bow on Sunday, December 23.
Specs and supplements remain unchanged for both titles. Each is still set to receive the 1080p/VC-1 video and Dolby TrueHD 5.1 Surround treatment, plus a host of extras including audio commentary, multiple featurettes, and more.
