Paramount Home Entertainment is bringing The Kite Runner to DVD and HD DVD, March 25th. This film is based on the book by Afghan novelist, Khaled Hosseini and is a story about a young boy who, as an adult, has carried the guilt of betraying his friend from childhood. Set against a very tumultuous time in Afghanistan, with mass exodus citizens in the US, resulting from the fall of the monarchy, the film is not widely accepted in its homeland. The Kite Runner stars Khalid Abdalla and Ali Dinesh and is directed by Marc Forster.
The DVD and HD DVD set will include the following features:
- a commentary with Marc Forster, Khalid Hosseini and David Benioff
- a Words from The Kite Runner featurette
- Images from The Kite Runner
- a Public Service Announcement with Khaled Hosseini
