Available on DVD and Blu-ray, “Live At The Royal Albert Hall” features the full 90 minute concert performance, plus special behind the scenes footage shot throughout the day leading up to the concert.
The package also includes an exclusive live CD of the entire show. This is the first time all of Adele’s hits and best loved songs will be on one CD plus her stunning covers of Bonnie Raitt’s “If I Can’t Make You Love Me” and The Steeldrivers “If It Hadn’t Been For Love”. Production Notes: This film from the wizards at Pixar centers on Carl Fredericksen, a character far different from any of the animation company’s previous heroes. Carl isn’t a fish, or a toy, or a monster. Instead, Carl is simply a 78-year-old man, but his age doesn’t keep him from having a rollicking adventure in this film featuring the voices of Ed Asner, Christopher Plummer, and Pixar favorite John Ratzenberger.

Listen, and understand. That Night At The Museum 2 is out there. It can’t be bargained with. It can’t be reasoned with. It doesn’t feel pity, or remorse, or fear. And it absolutely will not stop, ever, until Terminator Salvation is in second place at the box office.

Yes, that’s right: Ben Stiller’s kiddie-friendly franchise took the top spot from Christian Bale’s growly outing as John Connor this weekend, with $53.5 million to Terminator Salvation’s $43 million, Friday to Sunday. More damaging, however, Night At The Museum 2 had a slightly higher per-screen average take and did better on Friday, traditionally where geek-friendly films do best before the kids hit screens on Saturday. It also took a smaller amount than Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines, when adjusted for inflation, but it remains to be seen if it can hold up well over the coming weeks: Museum is expected to dip and to fail to reach the $250 million that its predecessor managed.

Elsewhere, Star Trek hung on in third place with a respectable $21.9 million despite losing all its IMAX screens to Museum, for a three-week total of $183.6 million. It’s now the franchise’s fourth most-attended film with some time in the top ten still to go.

Angels & Demons hung on in fourth place with a total of $81.5 in ten days (The Da Vinci Code was about $50 million up on that in the same time frame). But Ron Howard et al can comfort themselves with the thought that they are number one worldwide, with Night at the Museum 2 putting up a fight but Terminator Salvation not open in many other territories as yet – we’ll be seeing it next week on June 3.

Marvel Entertainment reported its First Quarter earnings today and gave a few updates on its upcoming movies during the company’s quarterly conference call.

Iron Man 2 is, of course, already filming for a May 7, 2010 release, but Marvel said this morning that the Kenneth Branagh-directed Thor is scheduled to start filming in the First Quarter of 2010. No formal offers have been made to actors, though they said that casting announcements are likely the next few months. Thor is targeted for a May 20, 2011 release.

Marvel added that The First Avenger: Captain America, to be directed by Joe Johnston, is scheduled to start filming in the summer of 2010 for a July 22, 2011 release.

In an interview with Empire magazine, Marvel’s President of Production Kevin Feige talked about The Avengers as well:

“Zak Penn is already on board The Avengers [as writer] and he’s spending a lot of his time looking into what we’re doing with Iron Man, Thor and Captain America, seeing how we’re tying it all together. And he’s beginning to outline the script now – he’ll be doing that over the summer.”

The Avengers is coming to theaters on May 4, 2012.
